A church born in prayer
Our Story
Saint Peter’s began with three women praying for God to raise up a church for the growing Mount Pleasant and Lowcountry community. From the start, our heart has been community, formation, and mission in Christ. As we’ve grown, our hope remains the same: that as people connect first to Christ and then to one another, they will discover the freedom to become who God created them to be.
Sundays At Saint Peter’s
Whether you are exploring Christianity for the first time or have deep roots in the faith, we want to serve you and help you find a place to connect. We invite you to learn more about who we are and what to expect at Saint Peter’s.
We hope you’ll join us this Sunday at 9:00 or 11:00am.
What We Believe
Although Saint Peter’s is a young church, we embrace a faith that is historic. We understand basic Christian theology to be sufficiently summarized by the ecumenical councils of the early Church. These councils produced Creeds, including the Apostles and the Nicene, that the Church has embraced as the standard for orthodoxy for over 1500 years. Beyond that, Saint Peter’s is an Anglican Church.
Anglicanism has its roots in the English Reformation, which was a movement that returned the church to a foundation of the Scriptures and the good news that sinners could be justified by grace through faith in Christ. Anglican theology is clearly laid out in the Thirty-Nine Articles of Religion. Anglicans are the third largest group of Christians on the planet and our distinct culture can be understood in the Chicago-Lambeth Quadrilateral.
Our governing framework is also outlined in our Bylaws to the end. Learn more about this by attending our Intro to Saint Peter’s class. Email Turner@SaintPeters.me to inquire about when our next class will be offered and how you can sign up.
We are a community following Jesus for the sake of the Lowcountry and beyond
Vision & Values
Community
At Saint Peter’s encouraging connection within the community is a priority. For that reason, we seek to create many opportunities for you to meet others, engage and build relationships.
Formation
At Saint Peter’s we love to encourage disciples of Jesus to grow in their knowledge and love of the Lord. Take the time to check out the Daily Readings, listen to a Teaching or join a Group. We believe the Holy Spirit works through the Word of God and the people of God to make us more like Jesus.
Mission
True transformation should lead to a posture of humility and a desire to serve. For us that begins with Saint Peter’s, extends throughout the Lowcountry, and finally reaches our international mission partners in Honduras, Haiti and Costa Rica.
Vestry
Our vestry for 2026-2027 consists of a group of individuals who are highly dedicated to the mission and vision of Saint Peter’s Church. Each of these members seeks to uphold our values. They oversee all that we are and pray to be.
